RegisteredStolen is a community-operated registry and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any law enforcement agency, police force, or government body. If you are a victim of theft, you should report the crime to your local police in addition to registering your item on our platform. Our Service is intended to complement, not replace, official law enforcement efforts.
RegisteredStolen does not guarantee that using our Service will result in the recovery of any lost or stolen items. While our platform increases the visibility of your item and helps buyers check items before purchasing, recovery depends on many factors beyond our control. The Service, including Recovery Scout, is provided "as is" without any warranty of specific outcomes.
Users are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of information on the platform. Buyers should exercise due diligence when purchasing second-hand items, including checking identifiers, requesting proof of purchase, and meeting in safe, public locations. RegisteredStolen provides tools to assist with verification but cannot guarantee the accuracy of all listings.
RegisteredStolen employs moderation systems (both AI and human) to review listings, but we cannot guarantee the accuracy of all information submitted by users. False reports can occur despite our best efforts. If you encounter a listing you believe is inaccurate or fraudulent, please report it through the Contact page.
RegisteredStolen is not liable for disputes between users of the platform, including disputes between item owners and potential buyers. All transactions and interactions between users are conducted at their own risk. We strongly recommend meeting in public places and involving law enforcement when recovering stolen property.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RegisteredStolen shall not be liable for: loss of data, items, or any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages; actions taken by users based on information found on the platform; service interruptions, errors, or downtime; or any losses exceeding the amount you have paid to RegisteredStolen in the preceding 12 months.
RegisteredStolen reserves the right to modify this Disclaimer or the Service at any time. Notice of material changes will be provided to registered users by email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Disclaimer.
