RegisteredStolen is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including people with disabilities. We strive to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards across our entire platform.
Our website is designed to work with the following assistive technologies: screen readers including JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver; all modern web browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge); browser zoom up to 200%; keyboard-only navigation; and voice control software.
RegisteredStolen includes the following accessibility features: full keyboard navigation on all pages and interactive elements; skip to main content link on every page; semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy; color contrast ratios of 4.5:1 or higher for all text; descriptive alt text on all images; visible focus indicators on interactive elements; labels and ARIA attributes on all form inputs; respect for prefers-reduced-motion (animations are disabled for users who prefer reduced motion); and responsive design that works on all screen sizes.
We are aware of the following accessibility issues and are actively working to resolve them: some placeholder images may not have descriptive alt text during the beta period; and the interactive map on the homepage uses SVG which may not be fully accessible to all screen readers. Workaround: the same information is available in text form elsewhere on the page.
We conduct accessibility testing on a quarterly basis using automated tools (axe, Lighthouse), manual keyboard testing, and screen reader testing with NVDA and VoiceOver. We also welcome feedback from users who encounter accessibility barriers.
If you encounter any accessibility barriers while using RegisteredStolen, please contact us at hello@registeredstolen.com. We take all accessibility feedback seriously and are committed to resolving issues as quickly as possible. Please include the URL of the page, a description of the barrier, and the assistive technology you were using.
RegisteredStolen targets WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. For more information about WCAG, visit w3.org/WAI/standards-guidelines/wcag.
